Judgment makes distance feel like wisdom.

It is easy to label someone.
Harder to hold the complexity.
Harder to believe a person can be good and still be messy, still be scared, still be using the only strategy they had when they were fourteen.

Understanding is not soft. It’s brave.
It means you risk being tender in a world that rewards being sharp.
It means you pause long enough to remember that everyone is fighting something you cannot see, even the people who look “fine” and polished and unbothered.
