It does not matter how many times you failed.
It does not matter what your track record was.
Read that again.
It does not matter how many times you failed.
How many people wrote you off.
How messy it got.
How far behind you felt.
How impossible it looked from the outside.
It does not matter.
What was meant for evil?
You can use for good.
What was painful?
It can still build capacity.
What felt unfair?
It can still build skill.
What almost took you out?
It can still become part of the strength you use in the next season.
That is the part people forget.
They think the hard seasons disqualified them.
No.
A lot of the time, they were DEVELOPING you.
Resourcefulness.
Grit.
Discernment.
Humility.
Strength.
Standards.
Fire.
Do you think I was on welfare and food stamps as a single mom in a one bedroom apartment thinking,
“wow, this is really building my future capacity” 😭
Absolutely not.
But it was.
And I’m sure there were people who looked at my life back then and thought:
she’s not going anywhere.
Cool.
They were wrong.
And maybe people have been wrong about you, too.
Maybe you’ve been wrong about you, too.
But it is not too late to draw a line right here and say:
up until this point.
Up until this point, that was the story.
Up until this point, those were the patterns.
Up until this point, that was the evidence.
But this?
This is not how the story ends.
Everything behind this line still happened.
It still counts.
It still shaped you.
But from this point on, it becomes material.
Not your identity.
Not your ceiling.
Not your ending.
Material.
And you get to build with it.
