People are sometimes annoyed when I ask them, “Did you start with the simple and basic ideas?”

People are sometimes annoyed when I ask them, “Did you start with the simple and basic ideas?”

But that’s often my best advice because sometimes we over complicate the things that are very, very simple.

For example, if you’re working with five clients right now, and you want to double your business, the simple solution is to take on five more clients.

If you are happy with the types of leads that you currently get but you want to turn it up by 10 percent, you should do 10 percent more of the activities that are generating leads.

People are willing to put in so much work to try to find shortcuts or bypass foundational steps. They could be spending that time just getting the basics done!

Great things are built from a series of small action steps.

In fact, whenever things start to feel too complicated, there’s a good chance that you’ve gotten away from the basics.

However, the truth is, “the people who are advanced just never don’t do the basics. They always do them,” as Alex Hormozi, the founder of Gym Launch, has said:

When compounded over years, the basics are what create consistency, a rock-solid foundation, and an excellent reputation.

The basics are what generate referrals and keep customers coming back, offering you the ability to grow your company and offer more.
