“What’s the next big social platform?”
Every few years people ask the same question:
“What’s the next big social platform?”
Right now, I’m watching closely because I do think we’ll see something new emerge in the next 12 months.
But if I’m being honest… I don’t see a clear standout yet.
Usually when a platform is about to break out, you start seeing signals early.
Creator energy shifts.
Adoption accelerates.
The experience feels different enough that people talk about it constantly.
Right now, a lot of platforms are trying to become the next big thing… but most of them still feel like slight variations of something that already exists.
And historically, the platform that wins is rarely the one that tries the hardest to copy what’s already working.
It’s the one that introduces a new behavior.
Instagram introduced visual storytelling.
TikTok introduced algorithm-first discovery.
YouTube made long-form creator content scalable.
So when I say I’m anticipating something new, I don’t mean a better clone.
I mean a platform that changes how people create or consume content in a way we’re not fully seeing yet.
Until then, the smartest move is still the same one I’ve been telling creators and business owners for years: build your skills, build your audience relationships, and build assets you control.
Because when the next platform does break out, the people who already know how to create valuable content will move the fastest. 💪
Curious what everyone else is watching right now.
Is there a platform you think could become the next big one?
