Most people see the cover and decide they already know the plot.

We are like books, honestly.

Most people see the cover and decide they already know the plot.

Pretty. Loud. Quiet. Confident. Too much. Not enough. Whatever label makes them feel finished.

A smaller group reads the introduction. They get the “headline version” of you.

Your job title. Your vibe. Your highlight reel. Your “here’s who I am” speech you’ve practiced because small talk is a sport.

But the right people… the lovers of books… they don’t rush.

They read for nuance.
They notice the weird little details you didn’t even realize were “details.”
The way you get excited and your sentences speed up.
The way you act tough but melt over small kindness.
The way you have opinions about phrasing.
The way your humor is slightly unhinged but also… oddly wise. (how is that even a thing…)

And here’s the part I want you to remember when you feel misunderstood:
Being “too much” for someone who only reads covers is not a character flaw.
It’s a mismatch in depth.

Not everyone is built to read the whole story.
Not everyone deserves access to every chapter.
And that’s not sad. That’s boundaries. That’s discernment. That’s you protecting the parts of you that are sacred.

The right ones won’t just tolerate your quirks.
They’ll adore them.
They’ll point at a line and go, “THAT. That’s so you.”
