TW: I didn’t even realize how bad it had gotten at the time.

TW

I didn’t even realize how bad it had gotten at the time.

Because when you’re in it… it doesn’t feel extreme.
It feels normal.
It feels like you’re “being disciplined” or “doing what it takes”

Meanwhile it was:
restricting
then binging
then trying to fix it
then overcorrecting again

and just… living in that cycle

And I look back now and I’m like
how did I not see it?

But I genuinely didn’t.

Because it was gradual.
It was normalized.
It was praised, even.

Now?

I’m the healthiest I’ve been in a long time.
And not in a “perfect” way.

In a:
I eat
I don’t obsess over every bite
I don’t spiral if something isn’t “clean”
I can actually enjoy food again

kind of way

And I’m still getting stronger
still getting fitter
still learning what works for me

without destroying myself in the process

It’s not all or nothing anymore

And that’s been the biggest shift.

If you’re in a place where things feel a little… off with food
or controlling
or exhausting

you’re not crazy
and you’re not stuck there forever

It can get better
even if it doesn’t feel like it right now

always a work in progress ❤️
