growth taught me something i wish i learned sooner
not everything deserves a response
not every tone deserves a match
not every opinion deserves a seat at my table

because the second i get out of character
i’m the one who pays for it
i’m the one who carries the heaviness
i’m the one who has to come back to myself later and clean it up

so now i’m picky
about what gets access to my energy
what gets a reaction
what gets a “let me explain myself” paragraph

sometimes the most powerful thing i can do is stay soft
stay clear
stay me
