I’ve always been the “I’ll figure it out” girl.

To a fault.
To a comedic level.

I have absolutely convinced myself I can do things I’ve never done before (including car things) because asking for help felt idk…

unsafe? inconvenient? embarrassing? all of the above?

Hyper-independence looks confident from the outside.

But half the time it’s just self-protection.

(and it was! I was a single mom in survival mode!)

Then Poul came along and I realized:
I can be strong, smart, self-sufficient… and still let someone in.

Still be the one who 'checks my six' obsessively – but not be alone in the room anymore.

That’s a different mode of strength.
